As a kid I always had a camera with me. I took all the family photos at holidays and on vacations. When I was a teenager I got my first 35mm camera and I loved it. I shot a roll of film every weekend, mostly flowers, trees, mushrooms, cats, barns, anything that I thought would make an interesting photograph.
Kerry Shirk
In 1978 my father, Herman Shirk, helped me get started in a photography business. He had confidence that I would succeed because he knew I loved photography. Since 1978 I have studied portrait photography with many masters through seminars, schools, and conventions.
I entered competitions and received several state and national awards for my photography.
Today I am still striving to perfect my craft, always eager to hear what is new and better in the world of portrait photography.
